| Last Saturday, a week, over in Brooklyn the Prospect Park Alliance held its Prospect Park Ball in a tent at the Prospect Park Carousel. They honored Robert Catell, Executive Director and Deputy Chairman of National Grid, Veronica Peterson, Principal, Brooklyn Academy of Science and the Environment, and Donald Elliott who was the recipient of the Wilbur A. Levin Award. During the dinner, the highlight was the “Green Auction” in which they raised $45,000 from guests to hire a “Zone Gardener” to maintain Brooklyn’s iconic Grand Army Plaza. The black tie event was attended by more than 600 and raised $625,000 for the cause. The Prospect Park Alliance, in partnership with the city and the community, restores, develops and operates Prospect Park with its 585 acres of meadows, waterfalls, forest, lakes and athletic facilities, making a masterwork of urban green space. |

| Last Tuesday night in Central Park they held the Opening Party for the Mobile Art Chanel Contemporary Art Container by Zaha Hadid in the Rumsey Playfield (Entrance on 72nd Street and Fifth Avenue). The “container” was commissioned by Chanel and conceived by the company’s designer Karl Lagerfeld (who appeared for the opening). Mobile Art will present changing installations of works by foremost contemporary artists from Europe, the United States, Asia, Russia and Latin America. It will be open to the public through November 9th. |

| Danielle and David Ganek hosted this year's annual “CSC Child Advocacy Award Dinner” kickoff cocktail party at their Park Avenue home. The NYU Child Study Center’s (CSC) 11th Annual Child Advocacy Award Dinner will take place on December 9th at Cipriani 42nd Street. This year’s gala will honor Paul Tudor Jones II, founder, chairman and CEO of Tudor Investment Corporation and founder and director of the Robin Hood Foundation. Last year, the NYU Child Study Center’s gala raised over $9 million to help children and teens who suffer from psychiatric and learning disorders. |
