The Cinema Society joined with Chanel and Vogue to hold a super-glam screening of one of the hottest tickets of Fashion Week, The Duchess starring Keira Knightley, directed by Saul Dibb and based on Amanda Foreman’s best-selling biography of Georgianna Spencer, the Duchess of Devonshire in the late 18th century.

Academy Award nominee Keira Knightley plays the duchess who was the great-great-great-great aunt of Diana, Princess of Wales. Their lives and histories in many ways mirrored each other, at once ravishing, glamorous, adored by their contemporaries and also tragic. The film also stars Dominic Cooper who with Knightley was also present at the Public Theater screening as well as the supper which followed at the brand new Cooper Square Hotel.
