This past Tuesday at Porsche Design, Free Arts NYC held "A Taste of the Race," an evening for passionate connoisseurs of sports car racing, fashion and fine wine. The event was spearheaded by Kevin Buckler, 20-year Porsche racing champion and owner of The Racer's Group, and top-scoring Sonoma-based boutique winery, Adobe Road, to benefit Free Arts NYC. Actor Dominic Chianese and the invited guests had the chance of a lifetime to get up-close to a TRG Porsche race car driven in for the occasion and have their photo taken with/in the car by celebrity photo house, Patrick McMullan. Co-hosted by Porsche Design, a highlight of the night was a tasting of the award-winning Adobe Road Wines and gourmet degustation crafted by celebrity "Top Chef" Angelo Sosa of Anejo Tequileria and Social Eatz.
Most prized auction items were celebrity-autographed race car hood from one of TRG's actual Porsches that raced in competition, "Photo Finish" racing photos by Splashlight Studios founder, Benoit Largarde and an autographed copy of Ava Roosevelt's romantic Le Mans race thriller "The Racing Heart."
Free Arts NYC is a New York-based charity inspiring children through a mentorship program to transform their lives through the creative arts. www.freeartsnyc.org.
