| On Tuesday night at Cipriani 42nd Street, the New Yorkers for Children held its annual gala benefit and filled the hall. The charity, created by Nicholas Scoppetta and friends to assist young people in foster care in establishing independent lives for themselves has grown to be an important charity in helping young people develop and make their way in life. |

The 3rd annual Moet Hennessy Financial Times Club dinner in San Francisco was hosted by John Ridding, CEO, Financial Times, and Jim Clerkin, CEO, Moet Hennessy US, and featured guest speaker Dick Costolo, CEO of Twitter.
The evening opened with a champagne reception, followed by a meal prepared with a special menu created by chefs Pam Mazzola & Nancy Oakes. The after dinner speech took the form of a candid conversation between Dick Costolo and Gillian Tett, columnist and assistant editor of the Financial Times. The exclusive, invite only dinner gathered 80 leaders in business, finance, technology and politics.
The Moet Hennessy Financial Times Club is in its ninth year and annually holds 4-5 dinners in Paris, London, Tokyo, Shanghai, New York and San Francisco. Previous speakers have included President Nicolas Sarkozy; Sheryl Sandberg, Facebook; Sir Rocco Forte, Chairman and CEO of Rocco Forte hotels; Rod Eddington, British Airways; Pascal Lamy, World Trade Organization; Sir Neville Isdell, former Chairman and CEO, Coco-Cola; Jeff Bewkes, Chairman and CEO of Time Warner; and Prince Albert de Monaco. |

Last week, Bart Scott, New York Jets wide receiver and Plaxico Burress, NFL free agent were among the 200 guests that turned out at the Ferrari Maserati of Long Island showroom for the Finish Line fundraiser hosted by Experience Auto Group owner, Stuart Hayim. The football stars helped Hayim celebrate his recent success in breaking the world record for navigating a powerboat around Long Island this summer.
Hayim's goal in breaking the record was to raise funds for the Don Monti Memorial Research Foundation, which is the premiere organization dedicated to cancer research, education, fellowship and patient care in the Long Island/Tri-State area. An organization he holds close to his heart, Hayim was a patient of the Don Monti Cancer Center after being diagnosed with Lymphoma in 1979. In the month leading up to the event, Hayim was able to raise over $30,000 for the foundation through this initiative and after the Finish Line fundraiser the total reached just over $65,000 with much thanks to the evening's sponsors, guests, and friends. |

Hayim's 41-foot speedboat, named "Recovery Racing" which he used to break the record, was prominently displayed outside the showroom as the first thing for guests like Richard Monti, Terry Hayim, James Carvino, Dr. Alex Covey, and Mike Brown to see upon arrival. Inside, the two-tiered space was adorned with black and white checkered finish line flags, photos from the race, casino tables, a custom photo booth, and, of course, Ferraris and Maseratis.
Guests mingled and enjoyed delicious "salad-tinis" and steak with potatoes and creamed spinach prepared by Andrea Correale's Elegant Affairs and then cookies and milk and white chocolate covered cheesecake bites for dessert. A lounge-like atmosphere with state of the art sound and lighting was provided by PartyUp Productions. Other sponsors included NY Auto Giant, The Universal Whiskey Experience, Blumenfeld Development Group, LTD., Alexander J. Covey, M.D., and Rojo Collison Center.

A highlight of the evening was the silent auction table, which was filled with autographed sports memorabilia, a luxury spa package from Cactus Salon and Spa, and a three-foot candy arrangement from Just Sweets Candy. 100% of the proceeds from the auction went directly to the Don Monti Memorial Research Foundation. Among the many bidders was Bart Scott who made a winning bid on a framed photo of Mohammad Ali.
Although this event was called the Finish Line Party, Stuart Hayim's mission to raise funds for Cancer Research is only getting started. |
