| This past Tuesday, October 11th, Alistair Hughes, owner and president of Savoir Beds, and Jason Kontos, Editor in Chief of New York Spaces magazine, hosted a special bed design unveiling and cocktail party and at the Savoir Beds flagship store in New York City, located at 28 Wooster Street. The three new beds were created by esteemed designers Matthew Patrick Smyth, D’Aquino Monaco and Helen Amy Murray, who each put their unique aesthetic on the handmade luxury beds. The one-of-a-kind designs are available for sale at the Savoir Beds store, and a percentage of the proceeds from the sales of the beds will benefit The Alpha Workshops, a nonprofit organization in New York City dedicated to assisting those living with HIV/AIDS. Guests including Alex Papachristidis, Liliana Cavendish, Tatiana Platt, Christina Oxenberg, Sharon Handler, dancers Charles Askegard and Michele Wiles, Saturday Night Live’s Jim Signorelli, Alice Judelson, Savoir Bed’s Roger Ericson, New York Space’s Vivian Goodstein and Maggie Norris enjoyed champagne and hors d’oeuvres while admiring the bespoke luxury beds and dreamy mattresses. Attendees discovered the handcrafted process that goes into making each custom made Savoir bed, as well as about the brand’s rich and illustrious heritage that began at the world renowned Savoy Hotel in London in 1905. |
