Young Patrons of Lincoln Center (YPLC) is a membership group for arts enthusiasts in their 20s through early 40s dedicated to celebrating and supporting the world’s leading performing arts center. Through special events, arts advocacy, community outreach, and annual contributions, YPLC members build future audiences at Lincoln Center and increase access to the arts for a diverse range of New Yorkers.

On Wednesday, September 21, 2011, 720 guests attended a celebratory evening of music, which marked the beginning of Alan Gilbert’s third season as Music Director, and comprised Barber’s compositions The School for Scandal Overture and Andromache's Farewell, for Soprano and Orchestra; Wagner’s “Dich, teure Halle” from Tannhäuser, as well as the Overture from the same opera; and R. Strauss’s Intermezzo, Dance, and Final Scene from Salome, featuring soprano Deborah Voigt. The performance was telecast nationally on PBS’s Live From Lincoln Center, as well as broadcast live on Classical 105.9 WQXR.

Guests of the Opening Night Gala of the 170th Philharmonic season, which was sponsored by Breguet, the official timepiece of the New York Philharmonic, arrived at the main entrance of Avery Fisher Hall at 6:00 p.m. for an hour-long cocktail reception on the Grand Promenade.

The concert began at 7:30 p.m., followed by a black-tie dinner at 9:45 p.m. in the tent at the edge of Lincoln Center’s Josie Robertson Plaza, next to Damrosch Park.

The Tycher Family Foundation hosted the 2011 A Truly HAPPY HOUR last Thursday at the Trump Soho New York. The event, which took place from 7:00PM–9:00PM, featured Guest Host Joy Bauer of The TODAY Show, as well as an open bar and hor d’oeuvres.

In addition, DJ Phresh spun, as a silent auction took place featuring exclusive items such as private box seats to a Giants game at Giants Stadium, diamond jewelry from Hirtz and Traubner and original artwork pieces from NB Pantirer, just to name a few.

The Tycher Family Foundation strives to create a network of young professionals who share a common goal: to donate their time and money toward a worthy cause. The Foundation is dedicated to reaching out to the next generation — to inspire action and giving, through raising awareness of opportunities to make an impact on the greater community.

Nearly 20 Hall of Fame athletes joined together with business leaders to raise money and promote the cause of mentoring on Sept. 19 at Friar’s Head in Baiting Hollow, NY at the inaugural Mentor’s Champions Golf Challenge to benefit MENTOR: The National Mentoring Partnership. The event, sponsored by Ernst & Young LLP and Roundtable Investment Partners LLC featured nearly 20 Hall of Fame athletes including Bill Russell, Jim Brown, Charles Barkley, Julius Erving, Jerry West, Reggie Jackson, Joe Morgan, Steve Largent, Sam Jones, Artis Gilmore, Bruce Bowen, Rick Barry and many more.

Proceeds from the tournament will benefit MENTOR: The National Mentoring Partnership, the lead champion for youth mentoring in the United States, which Geoff Boisi founded with Raymond G. Chambers 20 years ago. Bill Russell has served as a Founding Board Member since then, because of his unparalleled commitment to mentoring and our nation's youth. In addition, the tournament will benefit the local mentoring partnerships of Long Island and New York City.

MENTOR: The National Mentoring Partnership, is.the lead champion for mentoring in the United States. MENTOR’s goal is to help children by providing a public voice, developing and delivering resources to mentoring programs nationwide, and promoting quality for mentoring through standards, cutting-edge research and state-of-the-art tools. MENTOR works closely with State Mentoring Partnerships and more than 5,000 mentoring programs and volunteer centers throughout the country, serving more than 3 million children in all 50 states. There are currently 18 million children in America who want and need a mentor, but only three million have one. MENTOR’s mission is to close the gap so that every one of those 15 million children has a caring adult in their life.

Washington's smart set was out in full force at Ambassador Boyden Gray's beautiful Georgetown home in support of the Smithsonian's Freer and Sackler Galleries. Gray, along with Elizabeth Ladt and Adam Ozmer hosted the soiree to thank supporters and friends of the Silk Road Society, the Freer and Sackler's year-old young professionals group.

It was a muggy DC night, but all was cooler than cool amidst the Ambassador's beautiful art and antique collections. Following cocktails and welcome remarks by Ladt, Gray held court with an off the cuff chat about his collection and passion for the arts. The chicness continued out the door with event sponsor Scalamandre's wonderful red zebra gift bags containing an array of stylish swag.
