Holiday celebrations

The Hammerman and Badner families at the Jewish Museum's 15th annual Family Hanukkah Party.
Adrian Grenier hosted the 4th annual charity ball to benefit charity: water at the Metropolitan Pavilion earlier this week. It was a fundraiser for Scott Harrison’s projects to build freshwater wells in developing countries. The charity has raised $13 million since its inception and raised another million this week.

This past Tuesday the Jewish Museum presented its 15th annual Family Hanukkah Party. The event benefits the Museum, and includes many activities especially suited for grandparents, parents, and children up to age 10.

Co-chairs Ray and Ross Hammerman, Jacqueline Harris Hochberg and Robert J. Hochberg, and Sharon Coplan Hurowitz and Richard Hurowitz have been involved in planning a lively evening to benefit The Jewish Museum’s educational programs and exhibitions. Last Thursday night Dr. Harold Koplewicz and Brooke Garber Neidich hosted a cocktail reception at the apartment of Jane and Jimmy Buffett to raise money for their newly-formed Child Study Center Foundation, an organization that is working to build an institution exclusively dedicated to child mental health. Last Sunday night at Half King Bar (at 505 West 23rd Street), PEN Edmont held its second annual fund-raising event to support PEN's literary programming for young people.

As part of its ongoing commitment to support medical education, the Autumn Benefit Committee of New York City’s Hospital for Special Surgery hosted a cocktail reception and dinner under the Queensboro Bridge at Guastavino’s restaurant.

Guests enjoyed entertainment by Broadway singer and actress Andrea McArdle. More than 380 people attended the benefit and more than $470,000 was raised to support medical education.
