A sweet moment for all of us
 |
Blessing of The Animals hosted by the ASPCA and Cindy Adams. |
| Early Sunday evening at six at Christ Church on 520 Park Avenue, the ASPCA with NY Post columnist Cindy Adams hosted “Blessing of the Animals.” This was an event for everyone and their beloved pets – be they furry, feathered or finned. A sweet moment for all of us, and a reminder that the soul is warmed by the love, loyalty and devotion of these sweet companions. |

Last Wednesday night at the Metropolitan Club, Save Venice hosted a festive holiday event with entertainment provided by John Julius Norwich and his Christmas Crackers. Viscount Norwich played the piano and sang to the delight of everyone.
As he explained, “Christmas Crackers” “are nothing to do with Christmas – or, for that matter, with Crackers, at least in the American sense of the word. They are merely little fragments of poetry or prose that I have been collecting for the past half-century.
“Sometimes I’ve kept them because they move me to tears, sometimes because they make me howl with laughter, but always because they have something about them that makes them worth keeping.”

| Viscount Norwich publishes these albums every ten years in hardback. The fourth volume (2000-2009) will be published next year. In England he performs for one week at a small London theater, with a few songs at the piano “to add to the variety.” The Save Venice members and their guests were treated to one of these performances last Wednesday night. |
